Isabel Cabrejas, originally from Mexico City and now based in Barcelona, Spain, is a passionate advocate for women’s football. With a degree in Sports Business Management from Anáhuac University and a master’s in Sports Management from UAB and the Johan Cruyff Institute, she has dedicated her career to promoting the growth and professionalization of sports, particularly in women’s football.
Her love for sports began with her family’s influence and the injustices she witnessed in her home country, where opportunities for women’s football were virtually nonexistent. Driven by a desire to create change, a sentiment strengthened by conversations with coaches, players, and sports directors, she pursued this path. Her conviction also grew from personal experience, having played on boys' teams due to the lack of women’s leagues.
She has held various roles in the sports industry, from project management and operations to sponsorship and program development. Among her most notable achievements are being part of the team that led Mexico's U-17 women’s national team to second place in the 2018 World Cup and securing a gold medal at the Pan American Games that same year. Her focus has been on developing and promoting projects that advance women’s football and connecting people to create impactful initiatives.
Currently, she is working on the development of AmbassadorX, a platform that helps sports projects secure funding through fundraising, sponsorship, or investment. This project reflects her vision of supporting and motivating others to achieve their goals, furthering her commitment to the sports industry. She also dreams of opening her own foundation to create sports and educational opportunities in underserved communities, aiming to change lives through sport.
On a personal level, she values the balance between her professional and personal life, viewing her family and friends as her foundation of support. Navigating the male-dominated sports industry hasn't been easy, but she finds strength in her community and in her belief that sports can change the world.
